Cotonou Escapes (Call for entries)

Cotonou Escapes is an anthology of real traveler stories set in Cotonou and nearby areas like Ouidah, Porto-Novo, and Grand-Popo. 

It features personal accounts of experiences in Benin's markets, beaches, historical sites, and daily life.

We want 1,500–4,000-word submissions from travelers sharing honest narratives: daily encounters, challenges, discoveries, or insights. All backgrounds welcome—backpackers, expats, families, solo travelers. 

We are not interested in fiction, travel guides, or promotional content.

Submit by 15 July 2026 to bestofbenin@wakaabout.net with "Cotonou Escapes Submission" in the subject line.
